What is the difference between simple javascript image gallery and WOWSlider?

Q: What is the difference between WOWSlider and VisualLightbox?
I am looking at using one or the other for my websites but before I make a purchase want to know what the differences are.
The first one I see seems to be that there is not a template section under the gallery options menu item. Anything else?

A: Actually, WOWSlider and VisualLightBox work in different ways.

WOWSlider app. generates slideshows, that are displayed on the page permanently. Slideshows have transition effect between slides.

VisualLightBox app. generates image galleries. Images appear in pop up window after clicking on thumbnail. When you close pop up windows, you'll see static thumbnails only.
